The Irish Funds Industry Association (IFIA) has announced plans to open a representative office in Hong Kong to tempt local managers seeking an offshore presence.
The new office will provide assistance to what the IFIA calls “the increasing number of local managers seeking to establish funds in a regulated environment.” Pat Lardner, the new IFIA Chief Executive, made the announcement and confirmed that the Hong Kong office will be headed up by Conor O’Mara, Chairman of the Irish Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Hong Kong, in a joint initiative between the two organisations. “The ICC looks forward to helping position Ireland as the offshore centre of choice, as China and HK internationalises its front and back end financial operations over the coming...
