LGIM chief Zinkula appointed to Legal & General board

Mark Zinkula, the chief executive of Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM), has been appointed as group executive director of Legal & General (L&G).

The appointment reflects the group's intention to build closer ties between the parent company and asset management business. Zinkula was appointed CEO of LGIM in March 2011, having previously been CEO of Legal & General Investment Management America since 2008. Prior to that he was global head of fixed income at Aegon Asset Management.
