IFA wins client compensation from Santander after 30 years of confusion

An IFA has helped a couple win compensation from high street bank Santander after the bank was unable to tell the clients how many accounts they had or how much money they had invested.

The clients went to Brian Hill, managing director of Trowbridge-based Jones Hill, with more than a dozen accounts with Santander, and had "no idea" what they were invested in. Santander staff wrote to the clients detailing how much they thought they had with the bank, but the client thought that it was incorrect. They engaged Jones Hill to find out where their funds were and what they were doing, after being referred by their accountants.
