Only 13% of over 45s would consider seeking help from a financial adviser with their care funding, despite more than half stating they are confused by the subject, according to research.
Annuity provider Partnership's Third Care Index found people were far more likely to seek help from local authorities, social workers or the Citizens Advice Bureau, than speak to a financial adviser when planning the funding of their care. People also stated they would rather turn to the internet, their family, their doctor or a charity, despite, as Partnership points out, advisers being "the only people qualified to provide advice on financial products which can fund care".
