The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has banned a former mortgage adviser and insurance broker from working in the financial services industry after finding he had committed a string of offences including fraud.
The FCA initially issued a decision notice to Abdul Razzaq on 8 December 2010, having decided he should be banned from working in the industry. Razzaq referred the case to the Upper Tribunal. In a written decision issued on 20 March 2013 the Tribunal agreed with the FCA's assessment that he lacked honesty and integrity and should be banned in order to protect consumers and prevent financial crime.
