More than three quarters of people nearing retirement do not yet know which route they will take to fund later life, according to research.
Financial services firm True Potential found 76% of those aged 55-64 do not yet know how they will take an income from their pension, rising to 82% for those over-65. The firm polled 2,000 savers and found 5% of respondents planned to take out an annuity for their retirement, although the product was generally best known among savers. The research came ahead of pension legislation changes, which will allow savers to access a variety of options in retirement, including income drawdown.
