Schroders and M&G to quit Investment Association

Fund management giants Schroders and M&G will not renew their membership of the Investment Association when it expires later in the year.

The snub was first reported on Sky News. Schroders' head of investments Peter Harrison still sits on the Investment Association's board of directors; meanwhile, M&G's Will Nott has already stepped down from the board.  Sky News quoted sources saying the two directors plan to remain actively engaged with the industry body, but will no longer sit on the board. According to broadcaster, reasons for their departure could include a "blurring of the lines" between the work of the IA and the Financial Conduct Authority, as well as the IA's merger with the Association of British Insurers' ...
