FOS to speak publicly on social investing for first time

The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) will publicly speak for the first time on social investing at an event run by the Social Investment Academy (SIA) on 2 November.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) will join the FOS at the event, giving a speech responding to its ‘Call for input: regulatory barriers to social investments'. The SIA said advisers' views on social impact investment is fundamental to the way professional indemnity insurers interpret the risk of covering advice in the social investment market. 2016 has seen an upturn in interest in social and ethical investing. In February, for example, Whitechurch Securities teamed up with Ethical Screen to produce a range of ethical investment portfolios following an increase in client demand....
