Sterling Strategic Bond best-selling IA sector in May

UK All Cos sees £500m net outflows

Sterling Strategic Bond was the bestselling fund sector in May with net flows of £392m, while all fixed income sectors recorded net retail inflows for the month, according to the Investment Association (IA).

Strategic Bond funds have jumped from being the fourth best-selling peer group in April to the best selling in May, while fixed income was the third best-selling asset class with net retail sales of £931m in total.  In equities, European equity funds saw their largest monthly inflow in two years during the month, while investors continued to exit UK equity mandates. The Europe ex UK sector saw a net retail inflow of £290m throughout the month, while the European Smaller Companies sector took in £42m and the much smaller Europe inc UK sector peer group received £11m.
