Male FTSE 100 CEOs earning up to 110% more than females

The average pay for male FTSE 100 CEOs is 110% more than their female counterparts with the average male CEO earning £5.9m compared to £2.7m for females, according to a report by the CIPD and High Pay Centre.

In the report Executive pay: Review of FTSE 100 executive pay, the firms found the average overall pay was £5.7m, up 23% from last year's report. While pay fell 17% in 2016 from £5.4m to £4.6m, it has since risen 23% in 2017 to £5.7m.  Some 68 of the FTSE 100 chief executives earnt more than 100x the average UK salary of £29,000.  However, the report noted the average was skewed by two large salaries for Persimmon CEO Jeff Fairburn and Melrose CEO Simon Peckham who earnt £47m and £42m respectively.  Five ways to narrow the gender pay gap The median CEO pay was £3.9m, an increase...
