FSCS declares NJ Associates in default following 31 complaints

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) has declared Ashford-based NJ Associates Financial Services (NJA) in default after receiving more than 30 complaints against it.

NJA began being wound up on 13 September 2019 and entered special administration on 24 January. The firm had served as principal of advice company Pensions Calculator, which had previously worked with failed discretionary fund management firm Organic Investment Management and collapsed last year. The lifeboat fund told Professional Adviser it had received 31 applications for compensation against NJA and has paid one claim so far.
