'Advisers have risen to the challenge'

Almost half of advisers in the UK are confident about their business prospects in the coming year despite challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic, according to research from Charles Stanley.

Data from the wealth manager's white paper, Book of Stories 2.0, found 43% of 203 advisers surveyed had positive views on 2021. It also found almost a fifth (19%) had taken on more advisers to deal with client demand in the past year. Some 39% of advisers surveyed said the events of 2020 had boosted their confidence in their business, with just 4% admitting they were much less confident. Similarly, more than half (51%) of financial advisers said they were positive about the UK's economic future over the next 12 months and nearly two thirds (64%) felt the same about the next five years...
