Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) executive director of international Nausicaa Delfas has said the regulator is going to address sustainable finance and its future regulatory framework in the coming years.
Speaking at a summit on Tuesday (13 April), Delfas (pictured) said: "For the first time, alongside other regulators such as the Bank of England, the FCA has been asked to formally integrate the goal of moving to a net-zero economy in the UK by 2050, into the way that we regulate. "We welcome this challenge. Financial markets will have a crucial role to play in making the transition to a carbon-neutral UK, and as the supervisor of these markets, we intend to play our part."
