LGBT+ adults lack confidence in financial services industry

LGBT+ adults were almost twice as likely to disagree that they have confidence in the UK financial services industry, according to the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) Financial Lives Survey.

This was at 44% compared with 25% of adults who do not identify as LGBT+. The community were more than twice as likely to ‘strongly disagree' that they have confidence (20% vs. 9%, respectively). In the report, the FCA noted that this difference may be driven by demographic factors. Younger adults in the survey were more likely to identify as LGBT+, and they were more likely to have lower levels of confidence in the UK financial services industry.
