Gender pay gap narrows as female financial planners outearn male peers

The average total earnings of female financial planners now stands at £109,569 per year, marking a 7% increase compared to their male counterparts, whose average total earnings hover at £102,421 annually.

This is according to a survey among 100 financial planners conducted by recruitment agency Paul Harper Search. Female financial planners continue to earn lower basic salaries than their male counterparts, with an average basic salary of £75,750 for women, compared to the male average basic salary of £79,946. However, the report said the industry has experienced a shift in demand, with more clients seeking the expertise and advice of female financial planners, also leading to a rise in female placements.
