Survey paints picture of optimism for M&A activity in the advice market

Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity in the advice market is poised to experience substantial growth over the next two to three years, according to research from independent consultants AKG.

Research for the paper Future of Advice - State of Flux found that 65% of advisers predict that M&A activity will build further momentum, while 21% said it will expand rapidly. AKG said the state of flux in the advice market will mean the advice gap widening in the short-term as firms face "economic and regulatory issues". The research also found that marketing costs are a rising issue for advisers as 40% said it is a key issue for them when operating their business.
