Shifting the business goal posts

January is always a good time for planning and goal setting both on a business and personal level. On the latter, I feel I need to make a couple of key changes during 2007, mainly to focus on one thing at a time and see it through to a successful conclusion.

My past years resolutions are littered with quite a few failed attempts at going to the gym, to not touching the Blackberry after 8pm and so on. Personal goals are good on a number of levels, they can be private so if you can keep your mouth shut then no one needs to know if you have not quite achieved them and certainly no threat of friends and colleagues muttering in the background “God loves a trier doesn’t he”….if only business planning gave you that little luxury.
