As we near the end of January, I have been wondering how many people can possibly have kept up their new year's resolutions. The trouble is that in a fleeting moment of angelic ambition, it's rather too easy to over-stretch oneself.
So for example, giving up alcohol, chocolate, late nights, starting a rigorous gym regime, giving more to charity AND saving more in one fell swoop is just unrealistic. Personally, any of these other than the two latter financial objectives would be completely beyond the pale! For clients who are feeling overwhelmed by their finances, perhaps it would be easier to set just one resolution per month, instead of twelve in January.
