Ok, so let's get this bit out of the way first - those Australians certainly showed us a thing or two about how to play cricket in the recent Ashes series. In some areas, Australian supremacy is not in doubt.

As a supporter of Welsh rugby, it still irks me that during the autumn internationals, the Aussies managed to hold us to a draw at the Millennium Stadium. In rugby it seems, their supremacy is now being challenged. So what about financial planning? Australian business models are often held out (by the Aussies themselves perhaps??) to be more advanced than business models here in the UK. But is it true? Just before Christmas, three IFP board members - Julie Lord, Marlene Shalton and Phil Taylor - went on a study tour to Australia, to see for themselves how financial planning is done “Oz” ...
