Game, set and wait a minute...

Whilst watching Wimbledon it occurred to me how many technological advancements there have been to enhance the game of tennis and our enjoyment of the tournament.

Every year there seems to be some new piece of kit. This time of course it is the huge science fiction roof that can be deployed over the Centre Court at the merest hint of rain. So no more matches interrupted at their most exciting moments, and no more overnight waits for the conclusion of a five set nail biter. Now we can look forward to uninterrupted battles of epic length stretching into the fading light of night such as the recent awesome match between Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka.
