The decision by adviser Alan Lakey to stand down as a council member of APFA because he felt his voice "wasn't getting heard" suggests a more fundamental problem with leadership of the IFA sector. So why is the IFA’s voice so quiet? Is it because the sector is made up of many disparate voices pushing different agendas, or is it simply because we haven’t got the lobbying budget enjoyed by banks, fund managers and insurers?
