The implementation of the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) has affected all trail and renewal commissions, which is proving to paint a very confusing picture in terms of advisers' income. Regulation states all fund-based trail will be banned from 6 April 2016, yet many providers are acting sooner rather than later and, in my opinion, most of this income will have ceased long before then.
