Better domestic data bodes well for mid and small caps

Investors in UK plc have been hit with a flurry of macro news in the last couple of weeks, and while we all know the economy is not the stock market, it's worth taking a second to look at what's happened. First, growth was 0.5% for June, beating consensus forecasts of 0.2%, as consumers proved more resilient than expected, despite rising interest rates, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
