The FCA was called into being on April 1 2013, three months after the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) hit the advice world. Undoubtedly the new entity, formed after the splitting of the Financial Services Authority (FSA) into the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA), is better liked by advisers than its predecessor.
