Much like industry debates over ‘active vs. passive', ‘human vs. robo-adviser', arguments on either side of the ‘restricted vs. independent' discussion have evolved with the regulatory backdrop. Post-Retail Distribution Review (RDR) it was thought the restricted model would grow, points out Sandringham Financial Partners chief executive Tim Sargisson.
