Passive funds from Vanguard have crept up the performance chart at the nine-month stage of Fundscape's year-long 'Great British Wealth Off' experiment, following a performance lag from active funds.
Vanguard's LifeStrategy 80% Equity portfolios overtook the Architas MA Active Progressive ones, with the directly-bought version of the fund seeing a similar 4% growth as at the six-month stage. The actively managed Hawksmoor Vanbrugh portfolios also did not perform as well in this set of results, which Fundscape suggested could be due to the higher fees creating a drag on performance.
