Compared with men, sales of protection to women are appalling. Females have a similar need for cover, so why, asks Graham Harvey, do they fail to buy products?
As a nation we have come a long way achieving gender equality in the past 30 years. Far from a woman's place being in the kitchen, it is now as likely to be in the boardroom. Indeed, 30% of new businesses in the UK are set up by women, and 25% of existing businesses are run by women, according to a report by the Cabinet Office Women's Unit. Women are more financially independent than ever before, with three quarters of them in employment, compared with two thirds back in 1978.
