Derek had £100,000 that he wanted to invest for the medium to long term and wisely consulted his professional adviser. Taking Derek's situation and requirements into account, the adviser recommended an offshore investment bond. Derek was happy to go along with this advice, but then consideration had to be given to the adviser's fees.
