Emerging countries continue to play an important role on the world stage with their economies projected to expand at a faster pace than those in the West over the foreseeable future. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), developing economies already account for 38% of the global economy. Boosted by favourable demographics and rising income levels, their share of global GDP could overtake developed markets by 2030.
