As group pension schemes have become commoditised - something which isn't celebrated enough - middleware has become the new sales battleground among providers who still feel the need to compete on functionality. This is why I turn with mixed feelings to our subject this week: Standard Life's Good To Go SME auto-enrolment (AE) thingy. I use the word ‘thingy' because ‘solution' is banned in this column, unless we are describing something which actually dissolves in liquid.
