Chancellor George Osborne's announcement that from April 2015 all people coming up to retirement should have access to free face-to-face 'advice' has provoked strong debate in the pensions industry. Here PA looks at what the future might look like...

How it should look, who should deliver it and how it should be paid for are all hot topics. The issue has been clouded somewhat by Osborne's use of the term "advice." Within the industry the use of the term "advice" specifically refers to regulated advice and concerns were raised as to how such a service could be delivered to more than 400,000 people who retire every year.
