Scottish Equitable Asset Management's (SEAM) frAAA rated US fund manager is leaving at the end of the year to set up a hedge fund. Neil Smeaton's role as head of the US equities desk will be taken over by Elaine Heaton-Armstrong, deputy head of US equities, who joined from Edinburgh Fund Managers in 1997. SEAM is not planning to change the way the US Oeic fund is run. Until now the portfolio has been run by a six-strong team which includes Paul Kleiser, Andrew Dove and Stuart O'Gorman.
