The best rates for cash ISAs are available from high street banks, and not over the internet, as is commonly perceived. New research published by The Research Department, found that for a gross rate deposit of £3,000, the average interest paid across Britain's top ten ISAs was 4.67%; and that all of these ISAs are available from branches. Internet-based accounts, of which there are only four cash ISAs, average out at 4.02%; while the top ten postal and telephone accounts averaged 3.88% and 3.78% respectively.
