Protection intermediaries do not think they should move to a trail commission model, despite calls to do so from several industry spokespeople.
An straw poll survey of IFAonline readers (as at 12pm on Wed 26th July) has revealed 79% of the 180 respondents do not think protection intermediaries should move from full upfront payments to a trail commission model. The survey follows a speech made by Paul Bradshaw, chairman of the Nucleus Group, who argued trail commission would provide protection intermediaries with a steady income and would incentivise them to service consumers for longer, particularly when their clients’ circumstances change.
