Barclays reissues EM Optimiser fund

Barclays Wealth will reissue its Emerging Markets Optimiser as investors increasingly look for protected growth amid the current market volatility.

Open from 7 April to 2 June, the second issue of the five-year Optimiser will contain the same investment terms as the original. Managed by Barclays Global Investors, it is linked to the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets Index. The index fund offers 45% BRIC exposure (as at 31 December 2007), with access to developing markets such as South Korea, Taiwan and South Africa. Barclays says the fund’s participation level will fall when volatility is high, while levels will increase during calmer periods.
