Bright Grey extends CI cover

Bright Grey is incorporating the Association of British Insurers' new critical illness definitions from the start of next week and is adding four new illnesses to its cover.

The ABI’s definitions aim to future proof CI products and make it easier for consumers to see what is covered. The four new illnesses Bright Grey is adding are: Open-heart surgery – with surgery to divide the breastbone; Progressive supra nuclear palsy – resulting in permanent symptoms; Severe lung disease – resulting in permanent symptoms; and Traumatic head injury – resulting in permanent symptoms Bright Grey claims its CI product now covers 33 illnesses, including total and permanent disability, but it says the focus should not be on the number of conditions a product cover...
