Barings targets China growth with dual fund launch

Baring Asset Management is the latest investment firm bidding to take advantage of economic growth in China by launching two funds.

Barings says both the Baring China Growth and the Baring China Select funds, set for a May launch, will be actively-managed best idea funds designed to achieve long-term capital growth. The China Growth fund will be established as a UK domiciled investment company with variable capital (ICVC), while the China Select fund will be registered as an Ireland domiciled OEIC. Both will be managed by William Fong and Agnes Deng, who currently manage the Baring Hong Kong China fund.
