The FTSE 100 has ended the session down 4.1 points, or 0.06%, to 6,636.8, despite a rally from the mining sector following positive broker comment.
Drug company GlaxoSmithKline is the biggest loser with a fall of 5.05% to £13.90, closely followed by Sainsbury which slipped 1.89% to 545.5p, while power company Drax declined 1.65% to 803p. Pearson also fell 1.59% to 900p, while Tate & Lyle dropped 1.58% to 653p, although losses were limited by the mining sector which dominated the leading stocks following an increased broker rating for Lonmin, which added 2.11% to £39.25.
