Barclays Wealth notes specialist sector renaissance

Money markets remain a popular option for investors but an increasing number are showing interest in the specialist sector, according to Barclays Wealth.

Assets invested in funds on Barclays Stockbrokers Funds Market increased by 23% in April, the firm says. The most popular sector by assets invested was the money market sector, with the Fidelity Cash fund topping the list of funds invested in during April. The BGI Liquidity First fund also ranked highly. However, a growing number of investors looked to achieve growth from funds in the specialist sector, which accounted for 17% of April's order flow, Barclays says.
