Brown Shipley gives access to AIM portfolio

Brown Shipley, a private bank, has announced it will be offering its AIM Portfolio Service to outside investors for the first time.

According to Brown Shipley, the Brown Shipley AIM Index has outperformed the FTSE AIM Index by 51%. The service also offers certain inheritance tax and capital gains tax benefits. Qualifying AIM investments receive 100% IHT relief after being held for a period of two years. Higher rate taxpayers also stand to gain via Business Asset Taper Relief which, after a two year holding period, reduces the rate of capital gains tax to just 10%.
