The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee has today left the base rate unchanged at 4.75%.
Rates have now remained unchanged since a 0.25% increase announced in early August last year. Since then both the housing market and retail markets have cooled, with warnings through company results in the past week from both sectors. Minutes from the latest MPC meeting will be published on 26 January. IFAonline
