A pilot training project designed to encourage advisers to close the ‘protection gap' has been launched by AXA.
Teams from seven adviser networks are set to undergo protection training over the next two months, with AXA planning to roll the scheme out to other advisers if the pilot is a success. AXA says the objective is to increase advisers’ competence and understanding of the importance of protection discussions, particularly when a mortgage is taken out. Swiss Re recently estimated the 'protection gap' to be around £2.3trn.
