Advisers to launch OEICs in business boost - Chartwell

IFA firms will increasingly look to launch self-branded OEICs over the next few years as they strive to boost recurring revenue streams, Chartwell believes.

The adviser group, which launched its OEIC in 2006, says IFA firms can find significant benefits in the vehicle – whether or not they decide to keep the investment management in house. Chartwell investment research manager James Davies says as adviser firms look to increase business value, many will find OEICs a logical progression. “We see the OEIC as a key strategic part of our business,” he says. “It is quite an undertaking, but with the tax advantages and the move toward renewable income streams it does make commercial sense. “I would expect over the next three years or so we will s...
