Investors are facing the market with trepidation this month following a slump from institutional investors in North America, according to State Street Global Markets.
The research company says global investor confidence has dropped significantly after recording a high last month. The region saw a fall, according to State Street’s investor confidence index, from 114.5 to 100.2, while the index as a whole slipped by 7.6 points to 91.7 from March’s revised reading of 99.3. Michael Metcalfe, of State Street Global Markets, says: “With the squalls that began on February 28th fading to a distant memory, the latest concern of investors seems to be that markets hitting six-year highs are in territory where gravitational pull may start to reassert.” Ken Froot,...
