L&G appoints property MD

Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) has appointed Bill Hughes as managing director of its property fund management business, Legal & General Property (LGP).

He replaces Mark Creedy, who will leave by the end of the year. Hughes will join LGIM in late November and assume his managing director responsibilities on January 1. He previously worked as UK head of real estate at RREEF, the real estate fund management business of Deutsche Bank, from December 2003. Hughes has also worked as chief operating officer and deputy managing director at Schroder Property Investment Management where he worked from 1997 following earlier roles at global property advisory firm DTZ and JLW Fund Management.
