Axa Insurance appoints chief executive

Axa Insurance has appointed Philippe Maso y Guell Rivet as chief executive.

He has worked as group finance director of Axa UK for the past five years, taking responsibility for finance, strategy, financial risk and asset management. He will replace Peter Hubbard, who will leave the company “to pursue other interests” after holding the role for seven years, and report to Nicolas Moreau, group chief executive of Axa UK. Maso y Guell Rivet, who remains on the board as an executive director, previously worked as head of group corporate finance and risk management at Axa in Paris after joining the group in 1995.
