PMI leaflets to adopt ABI case studies

Members of the Association of British Insurers have until December 2007 to adopt standard case studies into their private medical insurance leaflets.

The ABI has published a new Statement of Best Practice for the Selling of PMI, which aims to enable consumers to compare how providers deal with medical conditions through explanations based on specific case studies. Jon French, press officer at the ABI, says Pmi insurers’ leaflets will have to include these case studies and demonstrate how their policy fits into them, and are designed to help consumers understand how they policies might work. He states: “Consumers will be able to compare products using almost real-life scenarios, and this will help them make a more informed choice.” O...
