Investor concerns about the US are overblown, with the economy likely to rebound next year, according to Jenny Jones, manager of Schroder US Small & Mid Cap fund.
Jones stressed that while the US is experiencing difficulties, the economy is not in imminent danger of collapse, though there are legitimate concerns, such as rising energy and food costs, falling home prices and a rise in unemployment. She said: "In combination with the credit crisis these factors led some commentators to state that a recession began during the fourth quarter. That has not happened.
