ProShares offers inverse exposure to long-term treasury bonds

ProShares Trust has released an ETF offering short exposure to long-term US treasury bonds, listed on NYSE Arca.

The ProShares Short 20+ Year Treasury fund is designed to provide 100% of the daily inverse performance of the Barclays Capital 20+ Year US Treasury index. The benchmark comprises all publicly-issued US treasury securities which have a remaining maturity greater than 20 years and are rated investment grade. The index is weighted by the relative market value of all securities which meet the index criteria, while certain issues such as US treasury inflation protected securities (Tips) are excluded from the index.
