A former Bank of England employee has replaced Sheila Nicoll as FSA director of retail firms.
Adams joined the City regulator at its inception 11 years ago and most recently headed up its post-crisis supervision of the UK's major retail banks. Nicoll will become director of conduct policy. "Julian has been outstanding in dealing with some of the issues the banking sector has faced in the last couple of years and has played a key role in implementing our more intensive supervision model for major firms," FSA retail managing director Jon Pain says.
